Exploring the Fundamental Laws of the Universe

The Department of Physics is recognised as one of the university's research centres. All faculty members are PhD holders, actively engaged in advancing knowledge through experimental and theoretical research.The department has developed condensed-matter research facilities with a primary focus on the development of new materials and experimental condensed-matter physics. Faculty members pursue research in diverse areas, including Condensed Matter Physics, Statistical Mechanics, Nuclear Resonance, Liquid Crystals, terahertz plasmonics, metamaterials and Plasmonics, and regularly disseminate their work through publications in reputed journals and presentations at national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars. To support research and development, the department is equipped with specialised instruments such as Abbe’s Refractometer, Dielectric Constant Measurement Unit, Ultrasonic instrument, Muffle Furnace, and Vacuum Oven, among others.
