Dr. Md. Afzal Azam is Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Dean Research (Pharmacy) at College of Pharmacy, JSS University, Noida. He obtained his M. Pharm degree from BIT, Mesra, Ranchi and Ph.D from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. His research interest is in the area of Target based design and development of antibacterial agents, Custom synthesis of small heterocyclic molecules, Hit to lead optimization and Computational Chemistry. He has supervised 10 Ph.D Scholars and published 70 research papers in Peer reviewed Journals with 750 citations. Successfully completed two DST-SERB sponsored Research Projects as Principal Investigator with a total grant amount of 76 lakhs. Two patents are also in his credit. Serves as a Reviewer of several peer reviewed international Journals. At JSS University, Dr. Azam is an active member of the Academic Council and chairs the Research and Development (R&D) Cell, contributing significantly to the university's research initiatives.
