Professor , Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI-ML) Dr. Kakoli Banerjee is a distinguished academician and researcher with over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and administration. She holds a Ph.D. in Genetic Data Compression from Shobhit University, an M.Tech in Software Engineering from MNNIT Allahabad, and a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IET Kanpur. Awards & Recognition
  • Dr. Kakoli Banerjee has received several awards and recognitions for her outstanding academic and research contributions. She was honored with the “Best Speaker Award” at the International Conference on Computational Intelligence (ICCII 2005) and received the Ajoy Basu Gold Medal for best academic performance in 2001. She has been recognized for her AICTE-CRIP-funded research on groundwater risk assessment and holds multiple international patents granted in India, Germany, and the UK. Her scholarly excellence is further reflected through her roles as reviewer, session chair, and editor for reputed international conferences and journals in AI and data science.
Social Engagement
  • Dr. Kakoli Banerjee is deeply committed to social and institutional development initiatives. As the Chairperson of the Women’s Cell at JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida, she actively promotes gender equality, women empowerment, and workplace sensitization through awareness programs and outreach activities. She mentors students in innovation-driven events like the Smart India Hackathon, encouraging ethical leadership and community-oriented problem-solving. Dr. Banerjee also contributes to academic social responsibility by organizing faculty development programs, guiding young researchers, and fostering collaborations that bridge technology with societal well-being, sustainability, and education.
Research
  • Dr. Kakoli Banerjee is a Professor and Head of the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning at JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida. Her research focuses on bioinformatics, genetic data compression, AI-based medical diagnostics, DNA mutation analysis, and environmental intelligence using machine learning. She has published more than 60 SCI and SCOPUS-indexed papers, authored books with CRC Press and Springer Nature, and holds multiple Indian, German, and UK patents in AI, IoT, and healthcare technologies. She has also received AKTU-CRIP research funding and actively mentors innovation, interdisciplinary projects, and academic quality initiatives.
