Dr. Amit Kumar Roy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at JSS University, Noida, bringing over 14 years of academic and research experience in power systems, smart grids, renewable energy, and hybrid sustainable energy systems. Before joining JSS University, he served in various academic roles at JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida, demonstrating consistent excellence in teaching, student mentorship, and academic guidance. He earned his PhD from the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, where he conducted advanced research on the “Modeling and Control of a Hybrid Sustainable Energy System,” securing a perfect 10 CGPA in the coursework. He earned his M.E. in Power Systems & Electric Drives from Thapar University as a Gold Medalist, and B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with 2nd Rank from Sathyabama University, Chennai. Dr. Roy has taught a wide spectrum of undergraduate courses and consistently delivers strong student outcomes and feedback. He has guided over 20 undergraduate projects and actively contributes to research through publications in reputed journals such as Energy & Fuels, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, IET-GTD, and Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy. A Senior Member of IEEE and Life Member of ISTE, Dr. Roy also serves as a reviewer for leading international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, and IET Power Electronics. His research contributions include journal papers, Scopus-indexed conference papers, book chapters, authored books, and a published patent in hybrid renewable system forecasting. With strong expertise in MATLAB/Simulink, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, Smart Grids, and Control Systems, Dr. Roy continues to contribute to high-impact research and academic advancement in the electrical engineering domain.
